I'm taking part in a relay long distance swim this August - swimming the length of Lake Geneva (70km) - training is in full swing but I am in need of one or two more team mates who are looking for their next endurance swim challenge! The event is taking place on 13/14 August and is a non-for-profit swim event, raising money for The Lewis Moody Foundation. The Foundation was set up by ex-England Rugby captain in 2014 to fund research into brain tumours - very poignant especially with the recent passing of Tom Parker in March 2022.
The challenge will be approx 24-34 hours (purely dependent on pace.conditions etc) of rotation swimming, of 1 or 2 hours on before passing on to the next team member. We will have a support boat provided by Lake Geneva Swimming Association with medic and support throughout the swim. The trip is self funded - although the support boat cost (Approx £4,500) we are looking for sponsorship currently. Accommodation/flights etc will be self funded.
There is no minimum fundraising target however the more the better for those impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis of course and the participant would need to be willing to fundraise through their participation.
Other requirements:
- Self assessment swim to be completed before event (2 x 2 hour swims)
- Medical form completed by doctor
