I have travelled a fair amount and have a limited experience travelling in Africa, I’ve organised shoots in documentary and agency work but never embarked on such a road trip.
We would wild camp and stay and live simply as we travel.
You’ll need a full motorcycle licence, hopefully some experience on big bike trips, skill in bike mechanics and happy to be on camera. I’m particularly interested in faith and spirituality and would like to embark on some kind of pilgrimage. We'll engage with the countries we ride through and as we prepare we’ll earmark some people and places to stop and visit and learn from.
We'll need about 30 - 50 days, £50 a day - £2000-3000 and figure out a way to get our bikes back. We’d need to arrange visas for Ghana and Nigeria as well as some of the other countries.
We’d need to meet periodically to arrange the trip, I live near Gatwick.
It wouldn’t be a good idea to ride the route on sports bikes but thought a picture would be handy to display the mode of transport!...I think a lightweight Honda or similar would be a lot more sensible.
Thank you,
