Between 7th-9th May 2015, 4 British Swimmers will be attempting to swim 30 miles from the Farallon Islands to San Francisco. If successful, well be the first non-American team to complete the swim. The swim will takebetween 15-24 hours to complete and English Channel Swimming rules apply (with one exception, Neoprene capsare allowed). Each swimmer willswim alongside the support boat forone hour each in turn, before the next swimmer takes over. This process will continue until the 30 miles have been completed. The swim will be tough with water temperatures ranging between 9-12c, however were attempting the challenge outside of shark season (one less thing to worry about!). Were London based and train regularly at Tooting Bec Lido and the Serpentine. Our open water swimming abilities range from near beginner to expert so itll be an interesting experience, but one were training exceptionally hard for! Were looking for a 5th swimmer to join the team and help us try to complete a British first. If interested, please email John Gunn at jawgunn@yahoo.co.uk
