We are an all female team competing in the first ever rowing race across the Pacific Ocean in June 2014. The race sets off from Monterey, California crossing 2100 nautical miles of the Pacific Ocean to reach Honolulu, Hawaii. We are now recruiting for 2 more ladies (and 1 reserve!) to join us on this exciting adventure! Please take some time to read the details below and have a look at the official race website (www.newoceanwave.com) before applying.About the race:The race officially starts on June 7th 2014 (conditions dependant) but you will need to be in California at least 2 weeks beforehand.We are aiming to complete this adventure in 40 days - by rowing for 2 hours/resting for 2 hours... for the entire journey! As such, physical training has already started and you should be in a position to dedicate time for this. Currently a few hours during the week and an average of one training weekend a month, this will soon be increasing to 2 training weekends a month and longer weekly sessions.The Costs:Currently standing at a rough total of 64,000 - including all equipment, food, mandatory courses and kit, etc. We are, of course, expecting to raise the majority of this via corporate sponsorship so it's VITAL that you are also in a position to allocate time for this aspect of things as well.
