"*UPDATED28 Jun* Cycle the South Downs Way, Fri 26 - Sun 28 July Would anyone like to join me in cycling the South Downs Way? We are now a small team who will be cycling the 160km (almost 100 miles!) long South Downs Way. This National Trail follows the old routes and droveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs between Winchester and the south coast at Eastbourne. As a very rough guide, casual cyclists take 3 to 4 days, regular off road cyclists about 3 days - we are not elite athletes, but we are training for the trip as it will require a degree of strength/stamina/fitness, and we plan to complete the route in 3 days. Our planned dates for doing this are Fri 26th - Sun 28th July, however if we are forced to postpone for weather etc. then we will reschedule for September 2013. We will be unsupported, so carrying all of our kit, and we will camp or bivvy for our overnight stops. Between us we have certain items of kit that can be shared/loaned if required, so don't panic too much about kit! Please let me know if you are interested or have any questions.
