I am the Overseas Challenge Fundraiser for St Luke's Hospice Plymouth and I am looking for a team of individuals who would like to take on a challenge trekking through the Andes to finish at Machu Picchu. It will be along one of the more unique and sacred Inca Trails. It will start in Cusco a fascinating city, filled with colonial charm and hidden deep in the Andes at 3,400m. You will start the trek along Soraypampa heading towards the Humantay Glacier and eventually up the tough ascent towards the Salkantay Mountain Pass.
The views will be spectacular, with the looming hulk of the sacred mountain Nevado Salkantay dominating the Glaciated Valley. You will pass through Jungles to finally arrive at Aguas Calientes where an early ascent will start to climb up to Machu Picchu to witness the sunrise. Then a tour around the lost city will take place with lunch and a hot spring afterwards in Aguas Calientes. There will be time to have a wander around all of these sites and time on your own to reflect and take in the beautiful surroudings of one of the seventh wonders of the world.
Please contact Rachel Turner on 01752 246568 or rachel.turner@stlukes-hospice.org.uk if you are interested in taking art in this amazing challenge. The bookings will be open 2nd April - 17th May 2013.
