The next expedition is departing February 28th and you can follow the international team at the link below. I joined the expedition in 2011. Annually, the 2041 Group takes a carefully selected team to explore the Antarctic Peninsula as part of an international Antarctic Expedition (IAE).
Over a 10 day period, we experienced, a combination of land/sea excusions and also learned from on-board environmental experts, gaining knowledge firsthand about the continents fragile ecosystem. We experienced the unique wildlife and observed the magnificent landscape of Antarctica, all while learning about climate change and what we can do to protect the last great wilderness on Earth.
I'm now part of a growing network of 2041 Alumnae (close to 1000 strong) as we champion efforts for a healthier planet and educate about why Antarctica is so important to the overall health of our planet. I was selected to join the 2041 Group in March 2011 for an Environmental Leadership Expedition to Antarctica.
I was sponsored by the Corporate Eco Forum and won the spot across a field of 80+ global Corporate Eco Forum member companies, 100+ applicants, 11 countries and 6 continents. The International expedition was comprised of 65 people from 22 nations and was led by renowned polar explorer and environmental leader, Robert Swan OBE. Experiencing Antarctica is unlike anywhere else on Earth.
