I am planning a snowmobile expedition across the Canadian Arctic from Cambridge Bay to Iqaluit in March or April of 2024. The total distance of the trip is about 3500km and much of the route is unknown. I anticipate it will take approximately 1 month. To the best of our knowledge, this has never been done before.
The route will take us through 8 Nunavut communities in total and through a variety of terrain with travel both on sea ice and land.
I am looking for 1-2 additional people to join the team, which is currently myself and 1 other individual. We would each drive a snowmobile and tow a kamotik (sled), so knowing how to operate a snowmobile or at least an off road vehicle of some sort is necessary.
I do not have sponsorship for this trip so members would need to pay their portion of the trip costs.
