Do you love wild remote places? Are you looking for a world-first adventure? Do you identify as a woman? If the answer is YES you could be the teammates I am searching for!
I am looking for a team of women (or those identifying with the female gender) to join me on the first all female trek through the length of Armenia, on the brand new TCT long distance path. All sexualities, ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome.
My name is Maia , I am 24 and from Bristol U.K. I work on wildlife documentaries, and some of my travels have seen me hiking on the east coast of Greenland, tracking elephants in rural Kenya, and exploring the forests of Japan.
The trek will take an estimated 45 days (including travel days, rest days and sightseeing days en route) and you will need to be able to self fund. Dates are not confirmed but we are most likely to start at the end of June/beginning of July 2022. I am hoping to have sponsorship to cover some costs & gear, but this cannot be guaranteed. I will also be applying for grants.
The entire journey will be documented and turned into a film, so any teammates must be happy to be on camera.
Armenia is a beautiful and wild place. We will be hiking around 900-1000km (route still being prepared), carrying everything we need on our backs. It is a little travelled place and a portion of the trek will be off-trail. The remainder of the route will be on single track paths, old soviet jeep tracks and some local village roads.
Experience/skills required:
- good fitness
- team player & resilient (mentally and physically)
- multi-day trek hiking experience
- thirst for adventure!
Experience/skills that are a bonus:
- experience of Central Asia
- Russian language skills
- navigation / map reading skills (if none we can train you up!)
- videography skills (camera/drone)
- first aid
If you're interested please drop me an email with a little bit of information about yourself. I hope to hear from you soon!
