I plan to cycle across all 50 European Countries, with 50 different friends and with the aim to do ‘one good deed’ in each country.
Not yet knowing what the Good Deeds will involve, I am prepared to take on anything – thinking that some charitable events will be planned and potentially lasting a few days, and some may be spontaneous and reactive, depending on my encounters along the way.
A few friends have already signed up to accompany me – Holland, Monaco and San Marino being some of the more popular requests! Friends so far who have committed include: Alex Alley (my partner who is planning to break the solo, non-stop round-the-world sailing record), Newall Hunter (Grand slam adventurer who has summited all 7 summits in 7 continents and skied to both Poles) and the Coxless Crew (a team of women who recently rowed the Pacific), so I am in good company. So far Russia and Switzerland have yet to be chosen and I’m not sure whether I will be allowed to cycle across the Vatican City!
Paula launched this challenge in September 2016 with a solo cycle down the length of Britain – from John O’Groats to home on the South Coast, covering a distance of 800+ miles. She did this in just over 11 days, helping the homeless on route and camping most nights.
If you would like to cycle a country with me, know of a ‘good deed’ that needs to be done or are willing to offer a cup of tea en route, get in touch!
