Working towards the John Muir Award - An expedition to educate and conserve The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. It encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration. We are applying for the highest - Conserver level of the award which requires a commitment of minimum 20 days. We feel like the John Muir award is a great way to give some formality to our efforts and provide us with motivation to stick to the four pillars of discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing during the entire expedition. We also believe the award will be a great asset to put more emphasis onto the educational aspect of our expedition when we give talks and publish articles, videos and photography once the expedition is over.
