We've just launched crowd funding campaign for next adventure: Run the UK 1000 miles barefoot, check it out, spread the word and share with everyone: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/run-uk-1000miles-barefoot/x/124162
We are nearly good to go what's missing is at least one person as a driver, a support vehicle and the last bits of funding for petrol and food, contact me under nadine@nadinehorn.com for interest. On the 29th of April I will embark on a spectacular challenge; run the length of the UK (1000miles) in barefoot shoes (no cushioning, only puncture resistant sole - here more details). No, it's NOT the usual 'Land's End to John o' Groats-route'.
This time I have decided to use mapping (Get-a-map) as a great way to discover the UK in a unique way. Together with my team I have created a route that will allow me to pass the 10 largest National Parks, starting in the South Downs and finishing in the Cairngorms. The journey will take 7 weeks teaming up with running groups, endurance athletes, fell barefoot runners along the way and aim to highlight the benefits of (barefoot) running, being active and help people discover that the next big adventure could be right on their doorstep!
I will be documenting the challenge via video and post on my website (www.nadinehorn.com)and as first female ambassador of EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association) raise funds along the way. So far we have partnered up with Ordnance Survey, Vivobarefoot Vivobarefoot Trainingsclinic and Smartwool.
