Following planning through the late stages of 2012 an idea has now become a reality and in September of 2013 I will be attempting to Kitesurf 100 miles from Jersey to Bournemouth in memory of two of my Grandparents I lost in 2012.
Joan Marion Francis Brightman to a very short and sudden death as a result of Cancer and Stanley Jeffreys to a longer suffering Alzheimer's illness. I will be raising money for three causes: - St. Christopher's Hospice - Alzheimer's related Charity soon to be decided - KiteRight Charity I'll be following the weather closely in the time leading up to July and August, picking a window suitable for the crossing, providing strong enough winds to do the 100 miles in one day, non-stop with only a support boat for safety purposes. A justgiving (or similar) page will be constructed shortly, but in the mean time this is just to get the word out and get anyone willing to do some charitable events in the run up to summer 2013 to raise as much money as possible for three very important causes.
Thanks for your support and look forward to having a beer with you all post-crossing!
