In July 2012 I will embark on a mission to drive my specially equipped Land Rover Discovery to all of the five major regions as represented by the 5 Olympic rings Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
Sports Trek is a non-profit initiative and is about connecting the Olympics, past, present and future. I am working with and connecting schools and children from London to Beijing and on to Rio. Through my photography, I want to discover what sport and the 2012 Olympics means to the young people across the world. Highlighting the inspiration and values that sport and the Olympics brings to peoples lives and different cultures, Sports Trek is a photographic project, going to the highest mountains and the biggest desserts. I have already gained the support of Lord Coe who has kindly donated an autographed Team GB Olympic football which will be gifted to a school that I will visit in Rio, directly connecting them to London 2012 and the traditions and values of sport in the UK.I am currently appealing for other similar iconic sporting and Olympic gifts that I can donate to schools for example in Russia, China, Malaysia, The Australian outback etc Its tougher than I first imagined pulling this all together. Talk about wearing different hats!!
If anyone can help or advise I'm all ears.. And now considering inviting like minded adventurers to join me on the way, to share the drive and the views. So contact me if interested.
