Youngest solo and unsupported expedition to the South Pole

CommunityBelinda KirkComment

Attempting to become the youngest solo and unsupported expedition to the South Pole. Starting at Hercules Inlet on the edge of the ice, I will trek and ski just over 1100km through the worlds coldest, windiest and most remote environment to the South Pole.

I expect it to take around 60 days to reach the pole. Facing blinding whiteouts, deadly crevasses and katabatic winds, this expedition will take me through fields of incredible sastrugi and natural ice sculptures.

I hope to depart for Punta Arenas early November, 2013.
