GHT = Great Himalaya TrailThe complete traverse of the GHT Upper Trail through Nepal is the ultimate adventure. The trail stretches over a distance of about 1,700 km and passes through spectacular, high altitude mountain landscapes, visiting some of the most remote villages on earth, where life remains as it was centuries back. (source: http://www.thegreathimalayatrail.org)The east part covers Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest and Rowaling areas. This is a more technical, high altitude and challenging walk in terms of territory, routes, temperatures but the view of multiple numerous peaks, high passes, snow-sheeted landscape is much rewarding. The GHT trek is a newly developed program that is only commercially operating since two years. Im lucky to get the commitment of a local Nepali guide Pema Sherpa, who has together with Robin Boustead trekked the whole GHT when the route was being developed. We have negotiated the itinerary now, and the basic set up. The trek will take c.a. 67 days starting from and ending in Kathmandu.Who Am I?I have rich experiences in walking the French, Swiss and German Alps, I walked the west part of GHT this year from Langtang to Hilsa (81 days, 900 km) had greatly enjoyed it.Im a trekker who prefers free spirit travel, independent walk, yet not compromising safety and health. Im usually a solo traveler but enjoy a good company every now and then. The agent I have chosen commits to responsible travel and proper treatment of porters and crew staff. You can find more information about the GHT trek at the following link:www.thegreathimalayatrail.orgwww.greathimalayatrail.com
