Johan Ernst Nilson and expedition partner Harald Kippenes have successfully skied from the Geographic North Pole to Canada, after almost 50 days on the ice.
The endeavour is part of something even larger for Nilson - he aims to now ride a bicycle down the length of the Americas before meeting up with Kippenes once more to make an attempt on the Geographic South Pole. By all accounts this first section proved tough on the two men. Bad ice forced them to deviate from their original plan of aiming for Greenland, and Nilson's blog talks regularly of 'big ice obstacles' and 'crazy' passes.
Upon arrival Nilson posted, ?We made it! After 48 days, 500 hours on the ice, 250 painkillers, frostbite, snow blindness, bad backs, blisters and snowstorms, we are finally at our destination.
