There will be an evening walk by local guides up to Cathedral Quarry, exploring pitch black mineshafts and quarry pit that has featured in films and outdoor documentaries.

The Cathedral quarries are a small network of inter-linked quarries above Little Langdale. The Cathedral quarry cave system is best known for its main chamber, which stands at forty feet in height and illuminated by two windows off the main quarry itself.

The main entrance into Cathedral quarry will lead you to the dramatic 40-foot-high chamber known as the cathedral which gives the site its name. It will also giving you a glimpse into the industrial past of the area and a view of how nature has reclaimed the site since its closure.

The evening walk will be followed by a talk in the impressive cave from Paula McGuire (see below).

Speaking in the evening at the Windermere Wild Night Out Camp-Out will be Maddie Cope and Ethan Walker.
